Mahmoud suffers from a disability at his arm since birth; he cannot move or hold anything using his disabled arm. This affected his performance at school, as he left formal educational many years ago because of his arm, in addition to his low academic achievement. He always looks for a job, but he did not find appropriate one suited to his capabilities and disabled arm. Mahmoud spends his time raising different kinds of birds. Mahmoud lives with his mother, visual-impaired sister and unemployed brother in a dilapidated house with broken asbestos ceiling in Gaza. The family receive financial aid from the government along with Benevolent Society for Disabled's help from time to time. This aid helps them match their basic including food, fresh water, clothes and medicines. Mahmoud's mother suffers from Diabetes, Hypertension and serious breathing problems; she occasionally undergoes periodic check-ups and she takes daily medications that most of time she cannot afford its expensive price. Mahmoud's biggest dream is to have a suitable job that might help his poor family.
