Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the Gaza Strip, the families of people with disabilities are extremely worried, as they are well aware about the weak immunity of their disabled members. Because disabled people stay home for a long time, this increases the stress and responsibility of their families; as most types of disabilities depend on the support of others to eat, drink, wear and take off clothes, and all kinds of other hygiene skills. In light of spreading the pandemic in Gaza, the families of disabled people should realize the importance of their role to protect their disabled children. On the other hand, if the rehabilitation institutions are allowed to open during the outbreak, they should follow the utmost prevention precautions and work in an integrated manner with the families of disabled people to protect them; especially most families do not know the reality of the pandemic and suitable precaution ways. The Benevolent Society for Disabled calls on the families of disabled people to remain in contact with specialized institutions for disabled to obtain reliable information about the pandemic and proper ways to save their children.
