Living in poverty can be difficult, but being blind brings all kinds of extra considerations. Zakriya is a visually impaired student joining the Islamic University of Gaza. Being a university student is challenging in itself, and there are even more obstacles for him, a student with visual impairment. Zakriya's father is dead and he lives with his mother and siblings in a rented old house in Gaza. The family do not have any stable income except some help from the Benevolent of Society for Disabled and other charities; this increases the family's struggle of paying the rent cost and daily life expenses. Zakriya's mother suffers from Asthma; this raises her fears in the event of COVID-19 outbreak in the Gaza Strip, especially since the family is not able to purchase what can preserve them; hygiene kits and sterilizers.
